Mainstreaming

Aim of the principle called mainstreaming is to enforce newly developed successful instruments into policies on the local, regional, national and European level. Mainstreaming therefore represents coordinated dissemination of best practices and ensures influence on policy. At the same time, before the implementation of individual DPs starts, it is necessary to ensure that the outcomes resulting from support of DPs will be really applicable in policies and practice. Mainstreaming principle must be seen from wider perspective and therefore fulfilling of this principle covers already the way, in which the Community Initiative Programme EQUAL is prepared, and in which the individual DP proposals and presented National and Trans-national Cooperation Agreements are evaluated. Thanks to this principle have been created national and trans-national theme networks within the Community EQUAL Initiative, which associate experts from public administration and private enterprises focusing on the issue. Theme networks ensure that the involved experts see the development of individual projects and the goals achieved and enable their application within national or regional programmes.

General intent of this principle is to ensure dissemination and transfer of results and outcomes achieved during the project execution. Phase of dissemination of best practices will aim at communication through methods and instruments that were developed during the project execution and dissemination of identified best practices and skills. Within the project there will be developed a number of instruments on the regional and national level. These instruments will be disseminated among the interest groups, i.e. organization focused on issues concerning blind and partially sighted people, Labour offices, employers and general public.
